So wait, your friend's cat is having a birthday?

At first I misunderstood, but....

Hooray for birthdays!

I still don't really know what lawyers do besides do stuff in courtrooms... alas.

Words that should be real

Mainly, these are words which will give me a good score in word games. Like Tigerman. It SOUNDS real enough. Look, see here:

He exists AND has bad fashion sense.

The Problem with Toffee Pancakes

I have become rather enamored of this new breakfast place. Well, not new, but new to me.

In fact, I'm so specifically fond of a certain item on the menu that I'm not sure I'll ever get anything else, meaning it may not be good to trust a recommendation from me about this place. I mean, sure what I get is FANTASTIC, but everything else might suck and I'll never know. Regardless, it leaves me with one simple truth.

The toffee crumble pancakes are so freakin' awesome. So much sugary sweet goodness, and in pancake form!!! I could eat them until I explode... which I may very well do one day.

Alternative Graphic Novels

Do you find yourself uninterested in the current graphic novel trend? Do today's titles leave you wanting something more? Well, here are some re-imagined graphic novels for today's more mature reader.

Ok, maybe the title/content "improvement" is debatable. I don't know. I bet watches lead interesting lives. Don't you want to know where that bread is walking? Will Scott ever reach the holy land? And what happens when our budding superhero travels across asphalt?

Stay tuned.

I've been failing at coming up with ideas for a cohesive blog post about something. Then I remembered, my posts don't have to be about anything. So here you go.

THIS IS A PRETEND BEAR. Real bears are more modest about their bear-ness.

Look at that majestic lump.

Bad Jokes

Why did the monkey fall out of the tree?

Why did the second monkey fall out of the tree?

Why did the third monkey fall out of the tree?

... This joke is a little more depressing when illustrated.

See, they're all fine. And that blue one died of old age after a long and happy life.

Unique Phobias

Sister tried to give me a blog-post idea of unusual collectors, "scientific" names for stamp collectors, sugar packet collectors, and postcard collectors (which is what made her think of me, as I collect and hoard postcards). It was a nice idea, and full of promise, but my limited paint skills would not allow me to get adequate pictures out of it, so I set it aside.

It did, however, inspire me to look up "scientific" names of some unusual phobias, the drawing of which came slightly easier. Incidentally, I HAVE one of these phobias.

Incidentally when verifying that Aulophobia is fear of flutes, google came up with Autophobia, which I presumed was fear of cars, but is actually fear of solitude. Whatever, both are scary.

I think I need to call beards "face plumage" from now on. Also, I must reiterate a point of beard reference:

I thought a fear of fog was kind of strange, until I remembered that they had made a horror movie about it. When looking it up, it seems they've made multiple horror movies about it, so fear of fog can't be that odd.

For those of you who are nit-picky, the third one is a book, not a movie. Still, the entertainment industry has clearly capitalized on Homichlophobia.

I found lists of multiple color fears, actually. Ereuthophobia is fear of the color red, Melanophobia is the fear of the color black, Xanthophobia is the fear of yellow. Do you think someone with Leukophobia also has Chionophobia (fear of snow?)? Is there a Xanthochionophobia, a fear of yellow snow?

I'm not all that political, but man, I really don't like her. </rant>

This one has multiple names, the more dull Telephone Phobia, or Telephobia.

For those of you who know me, I'm sure it's pretty obvious what my fear is... but HEY. It has a wikipedia article. Other people have it! It isn't THAT weird.

So there.
